Scenic drive through the picturesque wine region of the Langhe with stops in Bra and Barolo. Visit Serralunga Castle, surrounded by a typical winegrowing village. Wine tasting with rustic snacks at a local estate, then return through the vineyards to the hotel.
Morning visit to a truffle workshop with a demonstration of truffle processing and a simulated truffle hunt with a Trifolao and his dog. After a rustic snack, continue to Asti, a former medieval republic and the birthplace of Asti Spumante. Guided tour of Turin, the elegant capital of Piedmont and residence of the Savoy royal family. Visit the Royal Palace and its gardens, then stroll from Piazza Castello to Piazza San Carlo. In the city’s Belle Époque cafés, enjoy Turin’s famous chocolate. Optional visit to the Egyptian Museum or panoramic excursion to Superga.
The former marquisate town of Saluzzo lies beautifully beneath the Monviso mountains. The castle dominates the old town, while narrow streets host skilled cabinetmakers. Visit the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, then continue to Cuneo with its wide boulevards and Savoy Baroque architecture. Discover elegant churches, palaces and taste the region’s renowned cheese specialities.
Visit Pralormo Castle with its romantic English-style park, designed by the famous landscape architect Xavier Kurten. The garden features about 300 varieties of tulips that bloom in splendour each spring. Afterwards, continue to Alba, the city of truffles and a hundred towers, for a walk through its historic old town.
